Sydney, Australia

As it’s been almost a year since I went on this trip, this post be more of a photo diary with brief descriptions of each experience/location, and information regarding transportation and lodging. Locations/experiences are not necessarily in chronological order.

Fly into: Sydney Airport

Lodging: Sofitel Wentworth Sydney

Transportation: The usuals in a city - we mainly walked and took Uber (super big in Australia) for the farther locations.

Climate: Humid, moderately hot. I don’t remember the weather as well here but the average high/low for December is 78° / 64°F.

Duration of our stay: 3 nights, 3 days

Sydney Fish Market

So much yummy, not-too-expensive seafood. It’s really crowded, so finding seats may be difficult. We took an Uber here from our hotel.

Sydney Harbour Bridge Walk

This experience was via BridgeWalk. You’re guided on a climb up the famous bridge, learning tidbits of the bridge and Sydney’s history as you go.

Bondi Beach

I wish we had more time to explore this area… my sister and I went for a couple of hours after dinner. The beach was beautiful, as was the surrounding area.

The Rocks

A nice little neighborhood near the Harbour Bridge with the Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as some pubs, restaurants, and shops with local goods. We bought most of our souvenirs here, and I also stopped by Dux Collection and picked up some locally made room sprays and soaps.

New Year’s Countdown (@ The rocks)

Sydney’s fireworks display for New Year’s is one of the largest in the world. It happened to be pouring on New Year’s Eve, so we managed to snag a spot under the Harbour Bridge, and from there we had a magnificent view of the fireworks at Sydney Opera House. Getting out of the area after the fireworks was a nightmare though…

Sydney Opera House

The Strand Arcade

A Victorian-style retail arcade with plenty of cute shops. I stopped by here on my last day and picked up some local chocolates.
